  报告人简介:LU Yilong received the Bachelor Degree of Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology in January 1982, the Master Degree of Engineering from Tsinghua University in November 1984, and the PhD degree from University College London (UCL) in November 1991.After receiving his PhD degree, he joined Nanyang Technological University (NTU), where he has been a full Professor since 2006 in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. From November 1984 to September 1988, he was with University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. From October 1998 to June 1999, he was a Visiting Scientist at University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA).His research interests include radar, antennas, array signal processing, microwave techniques, computational electromagnetics, and evolutionary computation for optimization of complex problems. Dr Lu has authored/co-authored more than 350 journal and conference papers in his research areas. He is a recipient of 2012 IEEE AP-S S.A. Schelkunoff Prize Paper Award and Excellent Paper Awards from Radar 2011, Radar 2006, and IEEE MAPE 2013.Dr Lu is a Fellow of IEEE, the International Director (Singapore) and a member of Nominations & Appointments Committee for IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society, and an Editorial Board member for the research journal IET Radar, Sonar & Navigation. He also served as the General Chair for 2009 Asia Pacific Microwave Conference and Technical Program Chair for 2015 Asia Pacific Conference on Synthetic Aperture Radar.

 

  陆亿泷,19821月获哈尔滨工业大学学士学位,198411月获清华大学硕士学位, 199111月获伦敦大学学院博士学位。自1991年底起在新加坡南洋理工大学(NTU)电机与电子工程学院任教,2006年升任为NTU首批长聘(T65)正教授。陆博士在198412月至19889月期间在成都电讯工程学院任教,在199810月至19996月期间在美国加州大学洛杉矶分校进行访问研究。陆教授从事电磁理论、微波天线、雷达系统、无线通讯、信号处理等领域教学科研三十余年,发表学术论文350多篇,曾获IEEE天线学会2012谢昆诺夫论文大奖,2001年和2006年国际雷达会议优秀论文等奖。陆教授是IEEE会士、美国《IEEE航电系统学会》理事会成员、英国《IET雷达声纳导航》期刊编委,及欧盟一跨国大型星载分布式数字波束合成孔径雷达研究项目的顾问。陆教授曾任2009年亚太微波国际会议大会主席、2015年亚太合成孔径雷达国际会议技术主席。

 

  报告内容1Self-driving car technology has been identified by many industrial, investment and political leaders as the next revolution that could bring greater impact to the society than cellular phone technologies. This talk will introduce recent development of millimetre wave (77 GHz) automotive radar technology, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication technology, and discuss their relation and how/when self-driving cars would come into our life.

 

  报告内容2Array antennas are critical sub-systems for modern radar and communication systems. This talk will discuss the types and differences of a conventional array, which is often confusing for junior students and even for senior researchers. This talk will also introduce some new array concepts and relevant advanced array signal processing, including digital beamforming array, MIMO array,  sparse array, frequency diverse array, 4-dimensional array and augmented nested arrays.

 

  报告内容3The ability to see is the fundamental driving force in nature for animal evolution and it is also the driving force for warfare evolution. This talk will discuss few key steps of eye evolution and relate them to the evolution of antennas, military radar systems, electronic warfare, and modern defence systems. This lecture may also help students to understand better the origin of human evolution and human intelligence.
